Here in Pennsylvania, we're witnessing an unprecedented movement for Driver's Licenses for All. From farmers to law enforcement, faith leaders to local businesses, our communities have united behind House Bill 769 because we understand that safer roads and stronger families benefit everyone who calls our state home.
This legislation will transform our commonwealth in meaningful ways. Every qualified driver will be able to obtain a standard (non-Real ID) license, ensuring they've passed driving tests, carry proper insurance, and hold valid identification. Law enforcement supports this because it enhances public safety, farmers back it for reliable worker transportation, and faith communities endorse it because it strengthens families.
The economic benefits are clear: up to $4.14 million in first-year licensing fees alone, growing to $13 million in revenue over three years through taxes, registrations, and vehicle-related purchases. HB769 also includes robust privacy protections, ensuring personal information remains secure and protected from unauthorized use.
Our coalition embodies the principle that immigrant communities are best positioned to advocate for solutions that affect their lives. Building on their experiences, expertise, and deep understanding of community needs, immigrant leaders from across Pennsylvania guide our movement with wisdom and determination. Through values of unity, mutuality, and open collaboration, we've created a state-wide network that amplifies immigrant voices while welcoming allies who share our vision for justice and inclusion. From Erie to York, from Scranton to Pittsburgh, we're demonstrating that when immigrant-led initiatives unite communities behind practical solutions like HB769, we forge a path toward a safer, more prosperous Pennsylvania that honors the dignity of all its residents.
